Sinopsis:

Review
This review contains spoilers, If you have not read the first three books, please do not read this.
OR READ IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Oh, wow…

This goes to those who have been in this blog for a long time… and to those who haven’t…

Portia Moore’s book, the If I break saga in particular, have drove me crazy, yes, crazier than I normally am.

She made us go into a real-fiction world, a world so dramatic, full of turns, she made an incredible history that surprised you in every chapter.

And a world that I totally loved… that WE totally loved.

So, can you imagine my shock when I saw an email from her, yes, from Portia Moore, asking me if I wanted to read a fourth book?

A FOURTH BOOK!!!

An email from Portia Moore!!

I obviously was full with joy, I could have died in that moment and be the happiest person in Earth.

Well, not die, because I did wanted to read this book.

And what a book.

This book, focuses on the time just before the end… that moment after the storm, and the moment when this third person, a person that I didn’t see coming, shows up…

Collin.

And yes, we see a little more of him, we get to know him, and honestly, he gave me the chills. Collin is the cold part, he is the truth, he is very calculating, and he thinks he is the shit and perfect. At first, he makes you believe he is completely transparent, but he is not, he is totally unpredictable.

Collin, being the neutral part, is supposed to be the part that will help Chris y Cal… but what if one day he decides not to? What if he blocks the other ones? What if he begins to develop feelings on his own?

Is here when we truly see the internal struggle that Cal/Chris have every day. The doubt and impotence to no know if he is going to wake as himself, or years later and see that he has missed half of his life.

We can see and understand each one of them… every personality… what makes them unique, why every part of him is the way it is, and how each part complement.

But… how do you make them see that? How? How can you make them see that when they see each other as different entities? Or how do you make them see that when all of them love the same woman y each one of them want to be with her? HOW? How do you tell them: YOU DON’T EXIST.

And you know what’s crazy? This is all happening in one person’s head.

We also see all the emotional work of Luaren, trying to keep all the pieces together, her pieces. We see how is to live with someone with this disorder and not being able to help him… this part in particular is awful… because it breaks them in pieces… with him.

I think Portia nailed it with the name of the book.

Shattered Pieces, teach us how amazing the human mind is and how awful can it fragment you. And not just you… but it can also break the hearts of those who surround you.

But it also shows you the strength, composure, love… and even hope.
